Bath Farmers Market opens July 15

After more than a year of planning, the Bath Farmers Market will open for business July 15 from 3-7 p.m. at Couzens Park, just north of the intersection of Clark and Webster Roads.  The market, located across from the Bath Middle and Elementary Schools, will feature locally grown produce from area farmers, plus other food products, crafts and entertainment.

New Zoning (Land Use) Permits:

On May 3, 2010 the Board of Trustees voted to initiate a $50 application fee for a Zoning (Land Use) Permit. The fee will help offset the Township’s cost of issuing a permit.

Home Business Registration process begins June 7, 2010

The Board of Trustees recently approved a Home Business and Home Occupation Zoning Ordinance Amendment  which became effective April 26, 2010. The ordinance is in response to new state mandates as well as to create standards for home businesses and home occupations within Bath Township. The Township’s goal is to bring businesses currently in violation of the ordinance, into a non-conforming use status and establish guidelines for any new home business that is established in the Township to protect the residential character for its residents.

International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC)

The Bath Charter Township Ordinance Committee is currently researching the possibility of adopting the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC).
The purpose of the IPMC is to maintain a minimum level of safety and sanitation for both the general public and the occupants of a structure and to maintain a building’s structural and weather-resistant performance.

Bath, MI 

One of the fundamental responsibilities of government is to protect the quality of life of its citizens.  In many cases the types of services provided are clearly visible:  police, fire, parks & recreation, utilities, etc.  However, there is a wide array of services that are targeted toward some of the most vulnerable people in our community.  Generally speaking these programs are lumped under the category of “human services.” Officials at Bath Charter Township are moving forward with plans to bring these critical services to our residents.
